At the beginning of the Premier Development  League season, Head Coach Dave Dixon encouraged the Mississippi Brilla players to make a difference this summer. He told them that throughout the summer they would have the opportunity to impact numerous lives both on and off of the field. He borrowed a quote from someone and said: “You may not be the one who touches a million lives, but you may touch the one who touches a million lives.”
 
The ministry of Brilla touched many lives this summer, including one of our players, Scott Lucky. “Lucky” is from California, and plays soccer at Tusculum College in Tennessee. “Lucky” came to Mississippi this summer to spend three months playing soccer. He is leaving Mississippi a changed life...
 
“I came to play for Mississippi Brilla this summer so that I could further my soccer career. I entered the season with alot of confidence, and even a swagger about me.

However, the summer has been a humbling experience for me. I realized for the first time this summer that I cannot depend on myself to create success and happiness in my life. Through the help of our team chaplain, Philip Thurman, as well as my teammates and friends, I discovered that I need to turn my life over to God. A relationship with Him is really the only thing that matters in life. A couple of weeks ago, I finally gave God complete control of my life. This past Wednesday I asked all of my teammates to join me in celebrating this decision as Philip baptized me in a local swimming pool. I am so thankful that I had the opportunity to be a part of Brilla this summer, and that I am leaving different than when I came.”
 
We may not touch millions, but Scott Lucky may touch millions!
