A few days after Mississippi Brilla’s playoff run came to an end on July 25, they learned that two of their players earned spots on the Southeastern Division All-Conference Team.
Debola Ogunseye, a native of Nigeria who scored 14 goals in 15 games this season, earns his first selection to the team in his first year in the league.
Brilla FC coach, Dave Dixon, said of Ogunseye, "Debola is a very dynamic player. I don't think there is anyone as quick as he is in our league. He has the physical tools to be a successful professional player."
Ogunseye, who graduated from Newberry College in May, will be playing this Fall at Furman University while working towards a Master's Degree.
Dwyane Demmin, a native of Trinidad & Tobago, earns his 3rd consecutive selection to the All-Conference Team. Dwyane has been with Mississippi Brilla since the franchise’s inception in 2007 and has regularly been among the league leaders in minutes played. In addition to his stellar defensive play this season, Demmin added three goals from his center back position.
"Dwyane is just solid. I mean that as a player and as a person. You can always count on Dwyane," said Brilla FC General Manager, Rusty Bryant. "Other teams hate to play against him, and that respect, along with his consistently high level of play makes him a no-brainer for the All-Conference Team."
