On February 22, 2008, the Mississippi Senate adopted “a concurrent resolution commending the mission and charitable accomplishments of Mississippi Brilla.” The Senate Concurrent Resolution No. 566 recognized the many accomplishments of Brilla Soccer Ministries over the last 10 years, and highlighted the numerous achievements of Mississippi Brilla FC in 2007. The successful inaugural season of Mississippi Brilla FC concluded with the team being awarded the 2007 Premier Development League’s Rookie Franchise of the Year.

Senator David Blount of Senate District 29 was instrumental in drafting and presenting the resolution before the Mississippi Senate.

“We are so appreciative of Senator Blount and the entire Mississippi Senate for publicly and formally recognizing the accomplishments of Mississippi Brilla,” said Rusty Bryant, President and General Manager. “We hope that our efforts truly make the people of the state of Mississippi proud. Our goal is to continue impacting people for God’s Kingdom both in Mississippi and around the world.”

The Senate resolution concludes with the following: “WHEREAS, it is with pride that we recognize the accomplishments of this sports program which mentors young athletes in Mississippi in sports and in life: NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE OF THE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI, THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES CONCURRING THEREIN, That we do hereby commend the mission and charitable accomplishments of Mississippi Brilla Soccer Ministries and extend to its staff and participants our best wishes on their future successes.”
