Ministries

Brilla Soccer Ministries is "More Than Just A Game!" Since its inception  in 1996, Brilla has expanded its ministry into the following areas:

Teams
Brilla Soccer Ministries uses the sport of soccer, and the competition of the game, to build relationships with people so that the Gospel of Jesus Christ may be shared with others. Brilla Soccer Ministries’ teams include:

Mississippi Brilla FC
Mississippi Brilla FC is the minor league soccer franchise of Brilla Soccer Ministries, Inc. The team competes in the Southeast Division of the Southern Conference of the Premier Development League, a division of the United Soccer Leagues. The team’s goal is to promote soccer in the state of Mississippi in a Christ-centered, professional environment.

Brilla Soccer Ministries’ Amateur Team
Brilla’s amateur team competes throughout the year all over the country in  friendly matches,  tournaments, indoor leagues, and prisons. Each time the team competes against college  teams, men’s teams, or other exhibition squads, a member of   our team shares a testimony and the team passes out evangelistic literature after  each match.

Mississippi Brilla Juniors
Brilla Soccer Ministries formed a Division 1 youth club through a partnership with Clinton Soccer Association in 2009. The youth club offers competitive teams in ages U11 through U18. The foundational principles of the Mississippi Brilla Juniors are to develop youth players for the next level of soccer while giving them the maximum chance of succeeding at the highest level, and to develop players from the inside out through spiritual and soccer development.

Brilla Country Woods
Through a partnership with Country Woods Baptist Church in Byram, MS, Brilla Soccer Ministries helped create a new soccer league in 2010. The league offers recreational soccer opportunities for children ages 3 through 14. The league exists as an outreach for the church in the Byram community, while offering professional soccer training, coaching, and organization through the Brilla Soccer Ministries’ staff.

Camps
Throughout the summer, Brilla’s staff can be found teaching soccer to children in week-long camps hosted by churches throughout the country.   The goal of Brilla’s soccer camp is to share the love of Jesus with as many kids as possible, while providing fun, challenging, and  high-quality  training in the game of soccer. The Brilla camp staff desires  to see each child grow in the game of soccer as well as their relationship with the Lord, whether believing in Him for the first time, or by helping them grow in their daily walk with Him.

Tours
Brilla evolved from a mission trip to Costa Rica in 1996, and international missions continues to be at the forefront of Brilla Soccer Ministries. Through soccer, the team has been able to open doors in other countries that may not have been opened in any other way. Brilla works with missionaries in other countries planning matches, clinics, worship services, and street evangelism. Brilla has played against and shared the Gospel with top competition such as the National Teams from Antigua and El Salvador and professional teams in Costa Rica, Venezuela, Mexico, and Guatemala.

The Urban Soccer Project
In 2010, the Urban Soccer Project grew out of passion from Brilla Soccer Ministries’ staff member, Dave Dixon. This ministry uses the sport of soccer as a tool for impacting the lives of children in the inner city of Jackson. Through Brilla, the participating children have coaches as Christian role models, not only on the field in competition, but off the field in life. Through a partnership with the Farish Street YMCA and the Capitol Street Boys & Girls Club, children are given the opportunity to develop important life skills including teamwork, commitment, sportsmanship, and Godly character.
